Like many locals, my family always used Fisher. When your loved one passes, the last thing you need to see displayed is an uncaring, incomplete, rushed job on your loved one at a funeral home with inconsiderate, unprofessional and unprepared staff. Clearly, they did not care and providing good service is not important to them.
Afterwards, the staff was in and out of the office having my family member sign papers during a time that should have been considered private. In addition to that, apparently the chairs we needed to provide seating at our family home were inaccessible as if this event was spring on them by surprise and they didn’t have time to “MAKE THEM ACCESSIBLE”. I am beyond angry.

Not only did they do a POOR job on my family member—hair (...OMG...), mouth partly open, body not plumpled— but they weren’t even there to open the doors for private viewing before the public viewing. The immediate family was outside an hour waiting and had to call the funeral home to see where the staff was. That was PATHETIC!!! So, if there needed to be changes, which there should have definitely been, they left ABSOLUTELY NO TIME to discuss that.
As far as the work that they do, my uncle looked very good. I just think that they should have had police escort considering we were navigating through the city of Portsmouth and had to travel through several intersections. I did not like the fact that we almost got lost on the way to the cemetery and that we got held up by some traffic lights. Maybe they will consider this for their next funeral

As I said, my family have used them over decades, but after this experience I told my children do NOT let those people touch me! It is unfortunate that doing business with J.T. Fisher was the last opportunity we had to have our loved one handled with care and lovingly presented to us. Obviously, these basic and common sense practices are not included in their service packages.
My mother in law passed 2 months ago; so for 2 months of trying to get the death certificate everyone here has a different story as to why it has not been delivered. Even my husband has been calling and trying to keep contact from the MEU he's been on. Always the run around. First it was the hospital, next week it's in the mail and should be to us in 3 days, all the way till now where yet again something has went wrong. If there are constant issues please stop telling us it's "in the mail and on the way" every week that we call. Stop giving us the run around when called and confronted as to why we still have not seen it. Thank you. God forbid we do, but if funeral services are needed again, JT Fisher is last on our list.
My grandmother passed in 2008 and people still talk about how lovely and organized her service was. EVERYBODY on staff were friendly, helpful and exceeded expectations. The photo compilation they put together and gifted my family on a disc was well done and unexpected...we still watch it, it captured her essence perfectly!
