My husband and I went in to see labradoodle puppies I had called earlier about. Upon walking in we were not greeted by the four staff that were standing there talking to each other. The puppies are all in wire cages with no mat or any type of padding and the two puppies we came to see were eating their poop as if they were starving or had bad anxiety because they couldn’t lay or stand comfortably. My husband tried to get the puppies attention by knocking on the window at that point on of the ladies yelled loudly to stop knocking on the glass and had another staff rush to clean the mess. All the cages were filthy and all the dogs seemed to have the safe type of anxiety!! I don’t know why this place is still in business! With all the low ratings and continued complaints! I hope this place GETS SHUT DOWN ASAP!! It’s obviously they care little about the puppies or the customer or potential customers. Save your money and go elsewhere!!
Just got a dog from there. So far so good with health wise. We did the financing and at first you could tel they didn’t think we had the money or credit so they didn’t want to help us but after we were approve everything went smooth . Dogs aren’t kept in best conditions which needs to be fixed.
I have been on this location a few times, each time I am denied for some reason or another as to not being able to see a puppy. The condition of the cages are terrible for the puppies, they have no mates to lay on. The staff is not very helpful always have to walk around the store and ask for assistance. I have never been greeted when I walked in. How am I supposed to want to purchase a puppy of I'm not sure if I'll like it or not. Why is the store even open if they don't want you to see the animals.
I bought a puggle pup from there and she's great, got her for a great price too. She had a slight cough from day 1, and I was hoping the condition would improve. Sadly her condition worsened after a few days so I took her in to the vet. I was told she needed some medication for a common 'kennel cough' - basically the puppy cold. The store paid 100% of the bill. It was a large bill too, and on my own I would not have paid it myself. The store pulled through and covered it all. I have no regrets buying from Family Pet Center and hope they stay in business!
By the way, reading some of the other reviews- I would also charge people $10 if the same people come in every day wanting to see different puppies. If people have no intention on buying a pet, and are here to only play with puppies for their own amusement then they should be charged a fee. I saw my puggle pup and was not charged a fee, likely because they knew I was looking to buy and not looking to just play with a puppy for 20 minutes with no intention on a purchase.
Customer service is very horrible!!!!!!!! Very rude and they act like you are bothering them when asking a simple question!!! I mean why are the employees there then?!?! Do they get paid to chit chat!?!!?!!!?! I have actually thought about buying a dog from several times but I’m afraid to even approach the staff because every time I did, thier behavior was disgusting and disrespectful!!!! and quite frankly, I’ve even seen worse rudeness to black customers!!!! The white employees are so nasty and rude to black customers they act like black people don’t have a right to be in their and I’m not black btw; this is from pure observation!!! I can only imagine how the animals are treated!
It's common for puppies to get sick when close to so many other puppies from around the U.S. in a small space. This store treats their puppies well. They are bathed, they get all their pets up to date on their shots, are groomed properly, are fed properly, and get proper exercise. Puppies sleep 80% of the day so that is why many times they are asleep in their glass rooms.
