I hope someone at Sentara reads this. I was there on April 12, 2017.

The physical therapy center is wonderful! Other facilities in the complex have also been friendly and helpful.
My experience for labwork overall was very nice. The lab tech, Shakia, was absolutely great! She is so sweet and caring and she made me laugh more than once! I did not feel the 'stick' at all and the procedure was probably over in less than a minute or two. She really was a delight to deal with.
I do have one major complaint however. I noticed the main sign out by the street did not list a laboratory. Nevertheless I went ahead and parked and went in the building. I checked the directory in the lobby but there was no mention of a laboratory nor in the hallway going towards the 'Advanced Imaging Center. On their wall and entryway there was no indication that there was a lab inside. I went back out to the lobby and asked a person sitting there but she didn't know if there was a lab and suggested I try the building next door. Again, the directory in this lobby made no mention of a laboratory. A woman came out of a hallway with a cottonball taped on her inner arm so I asked her if she had just come from the lab. She said she had been in her doctor's office and they did her bloodwork there. There was one doctor's office off the lobby so I decided to go in there and ask. They were very nice and directed me back to the first building I had gone to and to go straight back to Suite 105 which is the Advanced Imaging service. Had their been a listing on the directory for the lab and on the entrance of Advanced Imaging I would have saved myself alot of time and trouble. I signed in at 1:01 and left a little after 2:00. Although I did not hear anyone else being called back for lab work i was there for almost an hour before being called back. Again, Shakia was so pleasant and sweet that I didn't want to complain to her as she wasn't responsible for the directory in the building.
Schedulers were very unprofessional when I went for blood draw. Sign in at podium located by itself in the lobby away from registration desk which was not staffed. No staff member checked during 20 minutes I waited. Approached the desk to see if that was indeed where I was supposed to sign in and the schedulers stated "Have a seat we will get to you." Ended up leaving and going to my primary care physician's office. I schedule patients everyday and this is not a good example of how to treat patients.
Degrading experience from the RN on duty she was extremely unprofessional and surly. She seemed agitated and angry all wrapped into one but definitely a horrible experience. If I could give her a rating it would be -5 because it seems she does this alot to the point that she was comfortable. She was mid to late 30's and angry already. She should not be allowed to tarnish this hospitals reputation with her Deplorable behavior. I will be contacting corporate about this visit.
The staff was very polite and helpful
Thanks,
